Description:

The Typhon is a multi-role Titan-class saber initially constructed for personal use by Lieutenant Micah Typhon for mounted combat. However, due to its success in battle, the Typhon was officially adopted by Omega Chapter and has seen wide use as a standard-issue assault saber. This is due in no small part to the modular design which allows the saber hilt to go from a standard 9.5 inch saber to an 11.5-inch great saber, or even a double-bladed staff by joining two sabers together. This modularity allows this one saber to be highly adaptable to fill various mission roles.

The Typhon features an extended emitter with engraved lines to allow for secure blade placement and an excellent feel for the controlling hand. The lower grip has been scalloped with 6 curves for your guiding hand to find purchase. The pommel is double-threaded so that another saber can be joined to form a staff. The Typhon was designed strictly for battle and thus does not have any extrusions to interfere with the pure purpose of this saber.

Lieutenant Micah Typhon was the commanding officer of Reaver Six Zero, or simply "The Reavers", a platoon in the 73rd Mobile Infantry Division of the Omega Chapter. As a wielder of the force, his weapon of choice was a lightsaber, one he constructed to fit his needs. Slender, simple, light, and adaptable to the various combat environments the Reavers found themselves in.

Soldiers in the Mobile Infantry could fight as cavalry or infantry shock troops, so Lieutenant Typhon made a saber for himself that could fill both roles seamlessly. Soon his entire platoon had adopted his style of saber. When the Reavers turned the tide of battle at Vicandra 3, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat, the command of Omega Chapter took notice of the young Lieutenant and his unusual weapon. They were impressed at the efficient design and adopted the saber as a standard issue for all Mobile Infantry. The new saber, the Typhon, was christened after the officer who created it.
